THE STUDIO:
Mastic Arts is a working art studio run by Stephanie Koscielski. Instruction is focused on exploring the individuals creative intuition, as well as introducing new approaches to creative working and thinking. THE APPROACH:
Each class will explore Art History and reference both classic and contemporary works. Depending on age and experience, students will use a variety of mediums includ
ing, charcoal, ink, mixed media collage and sculpture, as well as tempura, acrylic, and/or oil paints. Students grades 9-12 have an opportunity to explore graphic design working with Adobe photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. Adult classes are designed to encourage current, former and beginning artists to become more confident making work and using materials. Stephanie will work with each student one-on-one to encourage and guide their unique voice. CREDENTIALS:
Stephanie Koscielski is a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a former Director and Marketing Manager for several high profile Architecture, Construction and Design firms in New York City. Her first experience with art instruction came while interning with The House of Blues Foundation, assisting in the classroom at Chicago's Ravenswood Elementary, A Fine and Performing Arts Magnet Cluster School in Chicago. Recently, Stephanie has been teaching basic art at Madison School in Quincy, IL, paid for by private donations geared toward providing more arts education in the public schools. OTHER EVENTS:
Stephanie can work with individuals to provide tailored painting instruction for private events and parties. COMMISSIONS:
