This weekend, stop by and visit the Ima Hogg and Honeymoon Cottage museums at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman TX.

Hours are: Wednesday - Friday 10 - 3 and Saturday - Sunday 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Miss Ima, known as "The First Lady of Texas," was born on July 10, 1882, in Mineola, Wood, Texas, to James Stephen Hogg, who later became the first native-born governor of Texas, and Sarah "Sallie" Stinson Hogg. Her unusual first name was derived from a character in a poem written by her uncle.

Both museums will be CLOSED on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025 to observe Thanksgiving Day. However, both museums will reopen on Friday, Nov. 28, and operate with regularly posted hours throughout the holiday weekend.
Stop by for a guided tour from museum docents, Larry Tucker and Tracy Lamb.
Admission is free.
