Celebrate Juneteenth with us! 🌱

Join us on Tuesday, June 16, for Roots of Discovery: Juneteenth, a free, all-ages event honoring the histories, resilience and cultural contributions of African American communities. Our guest speaker is Kamal Bell, founder of Sankofa Farms, who will discuss the powerful ties between agriculture, liberation and perseverance.

Starting at 10:30am, explore hands-on activities and interactive science stations from partners including NC African American Heritage Commission , North Carolina Museum of History, Field Inclusive , and others.

This Saturday, we’re hosting a microscopic event that’s actually a pretty big deal— Genomics and Microbiology Research Day!

Explore a world of science that can’t be seen with the naked eye. Learn about the cutting-edge technologies researchers use to study things like DNA and microbes across diverse species, including primates, insects, and, of course, humans. With a handful of activities, plus talks by our very own Genomics & Microbiology Research Lab scientists, this is one you won’t want to miss.
