SeaHorse Studio is a working art studio nestled in beautiful gardens on a small farm in the hill above Woodinville's Wine Country. The studio is a happy, light-filled space where creativity and imaginations run wild. Studio owner, artist, and art instructor Suzy Cyr has been teaching art for over fifteen years and loves introducing students to the joys of creative art making and nuturing self con

fidence that is the result of artistic self expression. Classes explore a great range of media from traditional drawing and painting, to sculpture, silk painting, glass fusing, printmaking and much more.

This is a gallery of work created in the Elementary school classes here at SeaHorse Studio during the 2012-2013 school year (December-June). I love the variety of creative responses that resulted from the various projects as well as the wide range of media that we worked in. Included near the beginning are some pieces that were created in the pre-holiday "Make Art, Gift Art" workshops that I led in early December. Towards spring, we spent some time investigating life on the shore especially with shore crabs and seaweed and students were challenged to create sculptures out of wire and compositions of foam sheets, among other things. I posted quite a few "Citiscapes" in pen and ink because I thought they were so fun to explore: a few are versions of Seattle, some offer a political statement and all tell a story. All of the artwork was created by children in 1st to 5th grade with a few Kindergarten pieces mixed in. It is posted roughly in chronological order and ends with some photos of kids in the studio working--and posing! Enjoy browsing the exhibit!

I have been teaching so much this summer that I have neglected to post art work from the last half of the school year's classes. Here is a selection of pieces from the junior high and high school weekly classes with junior high work shown first in the album. I am so proud of all of the hard work that went into these projects and the students were pleased with their results as well. I hope you enjoy this gallery of exceptional art!
