Raymond Area Museum

Raymond Area Museum Our local, hometown museum was officially launched in June 2019. We did not have a space until January 2024, and moved into it in March 2024.

We are located in the Raymond Event Center on Day Street. Our mission is to discover and preserve our heritage, including the people of the city of Raymond (incorporated in 1888) and the surrounding townships.

We have elevated our exterior space with new window signs! Many of you noticed and gave them a thumbs up! This summer we will work on sprucing up our entry area. Ideas and donations welcome!

Construction still continues on the new city hall/community center, right on schedule. There will be lots to see when folks are in town for Harvest Fest August 21-23, 2026.

Our grateful thanks to all who visited the museum on Memorial Day 2026 in Raymond. It was a spectacular Minnesota spring day! Enjoy these pictures and a short video on our uniform exhibit. We are proud to honor these service members, past and present!

A high point was our visit with two local (and recently returned from deployments in the Middle East) National Guard members - - Austin Towne and Molly O'Leary.

COMING THIS MEMORIAL DAY!
May is Military Appreciation Month. At the museum, we are premiering a special exhibit in honor of those who have served in the various branches. Our display will feature about a dozen uniforms on temporary loan from local veterans. We invite you to come and see! The museum will be open on Monday, May 25, Memorial Day from 10:30 AM to 4 PM. This is part of the community annual Memorial Day observance at the two cemeteries and the Harvest Fest picnic at the fire hall. Share this post and make a day of it in Raymond!

Digging big holes, laying pipe and all the other stuff we don't see at the site of the new Raymond city hall/community center.

Inside the museum (away from the 45 mph wind!) we are working on our Memorial Day exhibit, which will feature uniforms from local veterans. We'll be open on Memorial Day from 10:30 to 4 p.m.

Let's tell our story! Every community has a history and ours is written by you. We appreciate all the items that you have donated to help tell and show what has happened over the years. Keep bringing them!

Tell us in the comments:
Your favorite local memory
A place that's changed over the years
A school story you remember
A memory you share with your kids and grandkids
Or just something that makes you say: Remember when??

Foundation prep is underway for the new community center/city hall just west of the Raymond Event Center, where our museum is located.

We are still seeking Raymond-connected artifacts for museum display. We are here Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-4. If that doesn't work, call 894-2969 and we'll work out arrangements.

We are currently planning a special Memorial Day exhibit of local uniforms from the various branches of service. The museum will be open following the parade/cemetery visits. Hours are 10:30 to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 25. All are welcome.
