Christmas Open House at the Depot will be Friday, December 5th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy cookies, coffee and Christmas Punch. Saturday, December 6th, will be Santa Day. Young and old may visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. After your visit, enjoy the Parade of Lights starting at 6:00 p.m. A fun filled day for all to enjoy!

Sooper Dooper Grocery was located on West 1st Street in Redfield, S.D. It later became Dean's Jack & Jill and eventually B & L Food Pride. While it was Dean's Jack & Jill an addition was added to the south for use as indoor parking. This space was later constructed into store usage. The building is now used as a storage facility.

Redfield Monument was located at 14 7th Avenue in Redfield S.D. and owned by C.R. Kreig. It later became Shelvin Monument. They supplied many of the monuments seen in area cemeteries. It is now an empty lot.

REMINDER- The Box Lunch is coming up! The annual Chicago Northwestern Depot Box Lunch Social is October 9th. On the menu is your choice of a beef, ham or turkey sandwich on a wheat or white bun baked by the colony, cheddar broccoli soup, vegetable beef soup or chili, chips, a fruit cup and a brownie for dessert. The cost of this meal is $12. Your order by October 6th would be greatly appreciated. Known as the Nicolson Building, it was originally the Mutual Insurance Building built by H.P. Packard. It had several apartments upstairs with the insurance offices on the main floor. It was later purchased by Mike Nicolson and became the home of Family Physicians and Surgeons and Randall Pharmacy. It later became the Redfield High School offices. It is now all apartments.

The Bus Depot and Cafe was located on the corner of 7th Avenue and Highway 281. It was owned by Tom and Letha Gallup. Many good meals were served throughout the day not only to bus travelers but local patrons as well.
