I have not been posting much lately because my husband had health problems. He was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer and had to undergo surgery for a mastectomy. He has since been cleared of any need for either chemotherapy or radiation treatments, for which we are profoundly thankful.
We had concerns over paying our bills and good friend set up a GoFundMe to help. We are very thankful for all who have donated. It is making all the difference!

It is the first time in many years since one of my works has been displayed in an exhibit. I have to admit it feels pretty cool.

We visited The View Museum today in Old Forge to take in the CADK show. The museum has a wonderful building design that accommodates exhibitions as well as live performances. I really enjoyed seeing all the art: “Storm At Long Lake” will be on a kiosk panel until later this month when the show concludes.

Contemporary Fluid Acrylic With Cell Activator by Dale Rexford Sears

Quick Forward: When asked to give an overview on fluid acrylics, I knew I could do it and felt quite cheered that someone had actually requested this. I had been following so many other instructors and received so much valued information, freely given, that it seemed only right to prepare some pay-it-forward kind of response.

That said, I find that a simple 1-2-3 How-To response was not viable! For each major step there is a host of little cautionary details that make the recipes and procedures work: Without them, results tend to slide out of control and away from the preferred result!

Therefore, I will create a modified 1-2-3 with the understanding that there is an additional amount of info not being addressed THIS time: fine tuning will be forthcoming.

This is a cautionary tale as well: It takes time and it costs $ to pull this together, and you can possibly wreck the interior of your house with dripped/spun-off paint (not kidding).

I’ve spent over 6 years growing the tools and processes as I personally found great satisfaction in this style. I used to do fine line pen and ink work where every square centimeter was planned. With fluid acrylics, there is color and 2-3 minutes of movement and you have no idea how it will end up – and it’s wonderful!
