How many still remember the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital? Located at West Olney Road, Norfolk, Virginia. Originally opened on October 14, 1888, this landmark healed generations before permanently closing in 2024. Demolition of this historic brick tower began in 2026, but its incredible medical legacy lives on right next door in the new modern campus.

This classic location originally opened in 1969 featuring the iconic retro mid-century architecture and the famous "Home of the Whopper" sign. Sadly, this beloved vintage spot was permanently closed in 2014 as fast-food designs evolved over the decades."

How many still remember the Baker's Shoes and the iconic NorVa Theatre marquee on Granby Street in downtown Norfolk, Virginia? This historic photograph captures the bustling street scene on August 4, 1965, with the theatre advertising the film Cat Ballou. Originally opened in 1922 as a premier movie palace, the historic NorVa Theatre permanently closed as a cinema in 1972, before later being beautifully renovated and reopened as a popular live music venue in 2000.
