Our Story

Initiated in late 2013, Sediment is an artist-run gallery located in downtown Richmond, Virginia’s Monroe Ward neighborhood. A multifunctional space, Sediment is home to a gallery, storefront, artist studios, rehearsal space, and shares the building with East Grace Studios, an appointment-only tattoo studio. The gallery at Sediment features engaging work by emerging visual and performing artists who embrace interdisciplinary, multimedia and collaborative approaches to creative production. In addition to regular exhibitions, Sediment also hosts experimental music events, workshops and presentations that expand the possibilities for cultural production and innovative ways of working.
