😱 CultureWorks Richmond President, Scott Garka, celebrated artoberVA recently as a guest haunter for Kings Dominion’s . Makeup artist Tyler used all his tools to transform Scott into this frightful scarecrow in the Cornstalkers maze. Tyler and 17 other makeup artists, and even more costumers, bring their skills and passion to create over 200 monsters to life each night. Check out their work for yourself at Halloween Haunt through Nov 1.

Experiencing the arts can be fun, inspiring, beautiful, moving, & joyful....but they also pack a serious punch! 💪

Arts & culture in our region have a significant economic impact, and data from the Americans for the Arts Public Opinion Survey reveals just how essential they are to our health, wellbeing, education, civic engagement, & community-building. 🏡❤️

When you support your local arts ecosystem by attending an event, making a donation, telling your friends, or purchasing a membership, you contribute to a happier, healthier, & wealthier region...and we think that's pretty cool! 🥰

We love a Free Little Art Gallery — especially during artoberVA!

👟Take a stroll through your neighborhood and see if you can spot one of these mini masterpiece museums. (Watch til the end for the full list of locations 👀)

🎨 Make your artistic debut and share your work with your community.

🖼️ Maybe you’ll find the perfect piece for your own gallery wall at home.

🗺️ or pick up the official artoberVA brochure for a map of all the PWYW Will partners offering affordable access to classes, experiences, performances, museums and more! You won’t believe just how much art you can find in your own backyard.

Take art. Leave art. Enjoy art. Happy artoberVA!

Ready to take your creative side-hustle to the next level? Join local artist Ron Stokes and CultureWorks at the Capital One Café at Carytown on Saturday, October 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. ET for a free artoberVA celebration, The Business of Art, designed specifically for creatives.

Kick off the afternoon co-creating an interactive coloring book mural with Ron before joining him for a fireside chat on what it takes to build a thriving creative business. Topics will cover pricing your artwork, managing variable income, setting goals and scaling your work on your own terms. Whether you’re a hobbyist or a full-time creative, you’ll connect with fellow makers and leave with a clearer vision on reaching your money goals.

Capital One Cafés are built to be a more modern way to bank—combining everyday banking with comfortable community spaces where everyone is welcome. Come out, support our city’s creative culture, and see what happens when a neighborhood space goes all in on its community. Can’t make it? The Capital One Café is open 7 days a week with extended hours and friendly Ambassadors to help with everyday banking needs. And don't forget, you can get any handcrafted beverage for 50% off every day when paying with your Capital One card.
