The Summer Music Series at Richmond Centre continues this Friday, June 5, with Branch Water Kin! Branch Water Kin is based in Richmond, and the group consists of well-known central Kentucky musicians including Pam Perry, Curt Chapman, and Derek Isaacs. Their music draws from several styles including country, bluegrass, rock, and folk. The series is sponsored by Redi Mart, Richmond Centre, and the Richmond Area Arts Council. All of the concerts in the series take place from 7:00-10:00 p.m. on Fridays and are free.

The guest for Episode 8 of Discovering Central Kentucky Music with Randy Westbrook is Parker Hastings! Parker was named the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Artist in Residence in 2023, and in early 2025 he was announced as the lead guitarist for the popular Celtic fusion band Gaelic Storm, a group that has topped the world music chart several times and whose music appeared on the soundtrack for Titanic. Hasting's guitar style is deeply rooted in the thumb picking style popularized by Chet Atkins and Merle Travis. He has performed on the Grand Ole Opry multiple times and is a protégé of guitarist Tommy Emmanuel. He performed an acoustic version of the title track of his latest album, Kentucky Sunshine, near the end of the episode.

The Faded Blue Band is based in Richmond, and they they play a wide array of music from multiple genres including rock, country, and R&B. The series is sponsored by Redi Mart, Richmond Centre, and the Richmond Area Arts Council. All of the concerts in the series take place from 7:00-10:00 p.m. on Fridays and are free.

The Richmond Area Arts Council's Blues, Soul, & Bar-B-Que fundraiser will return to Chenault Vineyards on July 12 from 7:00-10:00 p.m.! The band will include Ronnie Amburgey (vocals and harmonica), George "Boogie" G" Burdette (bass and vocals), Mack Davenport (percussion), Mike Howard (guitar and vocals), Vera Stonestreet Paige (vocals), Phillip Marmo (drums), Charles Ritchie (sound), and Randy Westbrook (keyboards). We’ll be playing a wide variety of legendary electric blues, blues rock, and classic soul tunes. A fantastic luau-style pig roast will be provided by Straight from Texas Bar-B-Que, and a cash bar will be available. The event is sponsored by Ridings Insurance and Financial Services, Michael and Ty Hart, First Southern National Bank, Stockyards Bank & Trust, Custom Photo, and Chenault Vineyards.
