It has been just over 2 years since our crew with SIX scouts went on their Out Island Adventure. ONE of the boys aged out of scouts right after they got back. THREE of them have earned their Eagle Scout ranking, ONE is doing his Eagle project, and the last ONE is planning to Eagle this summer.

In every Eagle board we have done for these scouts, Sea Base has been the activity that the boys cite as their best experience in scouting. EVERY ONE. You can't beat that.

Seabase Crew parents the Public video is now live! It can be viewed here. I did leave in a couple of the interviews with the boys but removed their names. The only other identifying clip I left in was the clip where we were all in the campsite and I pointed at the tents where we slept and the hammock then said who slept where. But no particular boy was identified in the video as I didn't point to anyone, just tents.

If there's any issue whatsoever, please let me know and I will immediately correct it.

I must apologize going through the Public video one last time I found a couple of places where I made mistakes I need to change and some transitions that I meant to take out the didn't get removed in the final process. I'm going to do that and resubmit the video thanks everyone!

Question to the parents of the Seabase Crew. I intend publish 2 video's. One that is private for us (and people that have the link) and one that is public. The purpose of the (shorter) public video will be for other troops that may have interest in the Munson adventure to enjoy as the quality of video's is pretty spartan for that particular adventure on the Interwebs... In the public video I will cut out much of our scouts/Troop 7 personal stuff but the boys will still appear in there here and there. The question I have is, would it be OK for your scout to appear in the public video? I'll publish it to you privately first for approval.

I have around 40 gigabytes of Video and Pictures that I finished sorting through over the weekend. The intent is to produce two videos with the highlights of the Seabase Trip, one specifically for Troop 7 and one (that has most of the Troop 7 centric info trimmed out) for the masses on Youtube curious about the Seabase program. My guess would be, the troop video would fall somewhere between 15-30 minutes long when finished. My target completion timeframe is probably early February at this point. It wont be a small task but it'll be a great way for the Parents to get a better feel for our trip,for the Boys that didn't attend to get a better feel for what a High Adventure Base is all about, and the Boys that attended to have something to share with your families.

The crew is back, and boy were they tired! Now it's time to do laundry and let them tell their tales to their families. At a meeting sometime soon (maybe our January outing?), I', sure they'll have a slide show and share with the rest of the troop.

I have to admit, it's good to have my own scout home. :)
