We are committed to learning from the materials we choose to work with. Being humbled by our mistakes and then becoming thankful for them. In working with our hands, we create objects that carry their own stories and energies. As a cohort, all working in different mediums, the throughline we find is a deep appreciation for the tangible.

Material intelligence is the integration of knowledge, which resists a casual alienation from our physical world. It is learning and re-learning, to the point that it becomes embodiment and memory.

It's your last chance to catch "Kei Ito: Everything Time Touches" before it closes on Oct 18 🔲

This exhibition brings together recent works by Kei Ito that further his ongoing investigation into inherited trauma, bodily memory, and the material traces of history.

His photographic practice unfolds as a durational and environmental process, shaped as much by time and contingency as by intention. Ito approaches his work as a performance, prioritizing the process over the completed image.

Across the exhibition, light, shadow, and exposure are joined by less conventional elements ––organic materials, chemical reactions, language, and sound–– each contributing to a practice that resists simple permanence. Images emerge and dissolve; words repeat and reconfigure; signals overlap and interfere.
