Seymour’s got something up his sleeve… or should we say, under his nose?

We’re excited to participate in Mustaches for Kids for the very first time with our very own team: Seymour’s Stache Society! We’re growing mustaches, having a little fun, and raising funds to support our mission to inspire growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play.

How you can help:

1. Join Seymour’s Stache Society as a "Grower": https://m4krichmond.org/donate-to-a-grower/seymours-stache-society

2. Grow your ‘stache! Sport your mustache during the challenge, November 4 through December 4. Twirled, trimmed, thick, thin, or barely there, bring your best 'stache! All are welcome!

3. Spread the word! When someone asks about your facial hair, let them know it’s FOR THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM and helping families learn through play! Then invite them to support your fundraising efforts.

Looking for a fun October activity?

Join us for a special Process Art Adventures where young artists will use mallets, golf tees, and rubber bands to decorate their pumpkins! It’s a hands-on adventure that encourages creativity while building fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

📍Chesterfield: Tuesday, October 27, from 2:15 to 4:15 PM
📍Downtown: Thursday, October 29, from 2:15 to 4:15 PM

It’s a longtime museum favorite and a fun way to add a little extra magic to your visit. Purchase your tickets at the Front Desk, then head to the Carousel at your scheduled time for a spin!

🎟️ Tickets are $3 per child. Caregivers can stand alongside their child for free.

Rain or shine, our Richmond families showed up ready to BUILD! 🏗️😎

What a fun time at the Folk Festival - Family Area! Our hammering zone was a BIG hit 🔨, and families enjoyed sensory activities, hand painting, construction trivia, LEGO, and our iconic bag hats! There was no shortage of creativity, curiosity, and smiles!

A huge thank-you to our amazing partners for bringing even more opportunities to play and explore, our wonderful volunteers, and every family who came out to join us, rain and all! ❤️ We’re so glad we could bring a little CMoR magic to the Richmond Folk Festival | Oct. 9-11, 2026 and share the joy of learning through play with our community!
