Home school students enjoyed an educational and historic tour of the Southeastern Indiana Veterans Museum. The tour was conducted by PG Gentrup, the director of the museum.
The students are holding 3 copies (1943/1944) of the Life Magazine that depicts pictures and written articles of WWII.
These magazines were donated by Ronnie Jones, who served in the US Navy and is a retired detective for the Aplachiacola Police Department. Mr. Jones is from Apalachicola, Florida. We would like to thank Mr. Jones for his donation to our museum.

SOUTHEASTERN INDIANA VETERANS MUSEUM-RISING SUN-IN: Operation Vets with Nets is an incredible organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military, retired service personnel, and disabled veterans through Cat and Striper fishing.
They’ve honored people like Mike Caldwell, a Navy Veteran who has been through so much and still believes in the good in humanity.
If you know a veteran or active service member who would benefit from a day of “reel therapy,” reach out to Operation Vets with Nets.

It’s giveaway time again! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Veteran’s day is coming up and I wanted to have a special Veteran’s day giveaway exclusively for all my fellow Veterans.
So this contest is for Veterans or current military. To be entered to win all I want is for you to post a picture of you during your service years (preferably in uniform). And I will put your name in the drawing to win this tattered metal flag that I personally made.
Please understand, to win this, it has to be the veteran who post their own picture, you can’t post for someone else. But, feel free to post a loved one’s picture in honor of their service.
Also, even if you don’t win and you enter. I will give you a mailbox flag that has your service branch insignia on it.

RISING SUN/OHIO COUNTY, IN: On Monday, November 11, 2024, the students of Rising Sun Schools will be honoring those who have served or are presently serving our country. Students are collecting photos for picture boards, presenting a community program open to the public, and hosting a breakfast for veterans and their spouses. RISING SUN/OHIO COUNTY, IN: We’ve got some rearranging to do, but we’re packing for the Indiana Tourism Association conference in Evansville next week. A request for a brochure exchange came in last-minute so we’re packed with Southeastern Indiana Veterans Museum-Rising Sun, IN rack cards and Rising Sun / Ohio County Tourism brochures—both state-approved tourism publications with their letters of approval. These will end up in Visitors Centers and rest stops across the State. Tourism-related brochures and rack cards can be submitted for businesses, attractions, events, etc. If you have a printed publication that you would like the tourism office to submit to the State for possible approval, drop it by the Visitors Center at 217 N High Street in Rising Sun during normal business hours. Printing/mailing is the responsibility of the business/attraction. Once approved, if the in-person exchange is repeated at future events, we will be happy to take them with us. (Space permitting.)
