Happy 100th Birthday to Norma Jeane Dougherty, also known as Marilyn Monroe!

Did you know before she became famous, Norma Jeane was a defense worker at the Radioplanes munitions factory assembling aircraft and drones?

These famous pictures displayed at the March Field Air Museum, show Norma Jeane assembling drones, notably the OQ-2 target aircraft, which is also on display! These photos have served to have captured a glimpse of the future icon before she took on the final “Marilyn Monroe “ persona.

Come out to the March Field Air Museum and see the notable photos and the OQ-2 drone in person. We are open Tuesday-Sunday from 9 am-5pm.
