March Field Air Museum invites the community to gather for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Join us to reflect, honor the innocent lives lost, and pay tribute to the courageous first responders and service members who answered the call of duty during our nation’s time of need.

Observe Moments of Silence with us as we pay tribute to the lives lost at the six key times of 9/11 and a seventh moment of silence to honor those lost to 9/11 health effects.

August 19th - National Aviation Day!!

Annually on August 19th, National Aviation Day is celebrated, recognizing all the incredible achievements in aviation. ✈️🇺🇸🥳

National Aviation Day was established on Orville Wright’s Birthday, recognizing his accomplishment as the first person to fly a controlled, powered, heavier than air aircraft. He had invented the airplane alongside his brother Wilbur - and a replica of their Wright Flyer is on display in Hangar 2 of March Field!

Throughout today, our “Pop Up” stations will have coloring, a scavenger hunt, a paper airplane making station (where you can design your own glider), as well as a special temporary display that shows the distances achieved by the first flights of the Wright Brothers.

Come in and celebrate the historic achievements of the Wright Brothers, and see many aviation achievements among our more than 120 aircraft and more than 30,000 artifacts!
