Happy , Rochester! 🌈 🐾

Healthy ecosystems thrive on biodiversity, and we believe communities are strongest when everyone feels welcome and connected to the natural world. This month, we celebrate the diversity of our community so that all people can learn, explore, and belong.

We're so excited for Pride at the Zoo on June 13, a full day of activities, community partners, special animal experiences, giveaways, and more!

We'll be joined by our amazing community partners, including Trillium, MVP Healthcare, Equal Grounds, Willow Center, Library Web, Canandaigua National Bank, Leafguard, All Belong Coaching, and more!

We can't wait to see you all there!

Moki the elephant prefers her salad root-free! 🐘

In this video, captured by Zoologist Kat Kleinschmidt, Moki carefully separates the grass from the dirt before eating! 🌱

African elephants are the largest land animals on Earth, and they eat about 300 pounds of food and drink about 50 gallons of water daily!

Stop by the Zoo to visit the only herd of African elephants in all of New York State!

Yesterday was , and we’re celebrating by looking back at an incredible conservation milestone for Western New York. 🦦

After river otters disappeared from the region in the early 1900s, Seneca Park Zoo partnered with conservation organizations and the DEC to help reintroduce them into local ecosystems. 💚🌊 Decades later, river otters are once again thriving in Western New York.

For guests interested in learning more about otters and supporting their conservation, our Otter Encounter provides a behind-the-scenes opportunity to meet the otters in our care, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Species Survival Plan program!

Head to our website to learn more and to book your encounter today.
