Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend Operating a railroad museum in the former C&EI RR depot in Rossville, Illinois. We strive to preserve the railroad history of East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana. We are open weekends, Memorial Day to Labor Day each year, and some holidays.

Labor Day is the last day of our season each year. So today was the last one for 2025, although operating sessions will start back up in November, on the first Saturday of every month until May of 2026. If you visited this year, THANK YOU!

In 1981, we held our Annual Meeting at the Vermilion Hills Country Club out on Perrysville Road. Date was December the 5th of that year. Here, we see L-R, Rick Schroeder, Fey Orr (who started the KB&S Railroad and gave a talk about it at this meeting), George Wynn, Dave Sherrill, Stan Chausse. and Larry Prosser. All but two of these men are deceased at this time. 🙁

We are so sad to report that another founding member of our group has passed away. Rick Schroeder was a regular poster here, and he died last Friday, August 15. It won't be quite the same without him.
