EDITED TO ADD: The link to the event signup has been intentionally disabled, because we’ve reached capacity for this event! Due to fire code, we cannot exceed a certain occupancy. We’ve shut down new signups in order to avoid overcrowding the event space. That said, this is only the first of these events, we anticipate more in the future.

I’ve had a lot of new ideas cooking lately. These are pendants - made from broken up pots. Broken either through mishaps or because they did not meet standards, which were then sent through a rock polisher for a few days so the edges are smooth (very smooth actually). I spent some time finding the most interesting ones out of the batch and mounted them - either with mechanical claw mounts or using jewelry glue. The results are a rather lovely second chance.

As for the bits that didn’t make the cut? I have a section near my garage studio that lost a bush in the electricity install that is very, very slowly getting a rock garden makeover. I am thinking I should have gotten a larger polisher 🤔😅

New stuff packed and ready to go - all that’s left to get ready is ME. Next stop is East Lansing ❤️ and the The Cracked Pot Studio Tour !

My sgraffito pieces and pug mugs will be there with quite a few new pieces - I will be at Fox Knoll Studio in East Lansing (15811 Upton Road) hanging out with other potters as part of this year’s Cracked Pot Tour ❤️ this Saturday and Sunday. I am about to unload my second glaze load of the week for it too!! Come see me and check out some nearby stops and just have a great weekend full of great pottery!

We have this one quickfire hydrangea bush that blooms like this every year - with the one set of blossoms going completely at its own speed, on its own timetable - standing out. It makes me smile every time I pass by it.

I guess what I am trying to say is, don’t be afraid to be yourself.

Go at your own pace.

Stand out.

You never know who you are making smile just by being you.
