Beatnik Studios is pleased to announce, Winter Wander, a group exhibition featuring the work of Sacramento artists Melissa Arendt, Sarah Golden and Yelena Martynovskaya. Winter Wander opens Friday, December 6, 2019 and will remain on display through February 7, 2020. Absorbed is Free and open to all ages Friday, November 1st 6pm - 10pm Absorbed as an experimental quarterly event at Beatnik Studios, and an unexpected synthesis of creators. Each season presents a unique energy captured in the work we show, and the energy we bring into the space. This fall, Absorbed will showcase Aerial silk dancing by Kat Boston and Monica Padilla; Pole performances by Carolyn Hubbard, Shasta Malcom, Courtney Ray and Natalie Haskell, and interactive rollerskating with the Sac Quad Squad. Beatnik Gallery's fall show, "Goofed Up" features the work of Sacramento artist Edwin Forrest. The exhibition runs through November 22, 2019. Installation views of the show: "Although the paintings are solid, with a mature and grounded pallet, their internal structures swerve, arch, and carry more visual weight than can actually exist in the “real world.” They are not, in any way, merely “upside down” but are instead propelled by their own private dynamics that take the viewers on a joyride in, around, and through a world constructed by the artist.
