What a wonderful day of history, preservation, and community!

Eastville Community Historical Society was delighted to welcome visitors who participated in Shards of the Past, a community collaboration between Bridgehampton Museum, Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, and Eastville.

Together, we explored the stories that connect our communities, the importance of historical preservation, and the shared responsibility of keeping our local history alive for future generations.

A heartfelt thank you to our collaborating museums and every visitor who joined us for this meaningful experience. It is through partnerships like these that we continue to celebrate, preserve, and share the rich history of the East End.

Join the Eastville Community Historical Society this weekend, October 10–12, for our Path Through History Walking Tour and experience the stories, people, and places that have shaped Eastville and Sag Harbor.

We are honored to be included in New York State’s Path Through History Weekend, an initiative of I LOVE NY and the New York State Department of Economic Development, bringing museums, historic sites, and cultural organizations across the state together to keep New York’s history alive.

History is meant to be explored! Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Susan to the Eastville Community Historical Society as she continues her journey through Suffolk County’s 250th Anniversary Passport Book.

Susan has now collected an incredible 107 out of 112 stamps! We are honored that Eastville could be part of her journey and truly admire her dedication to discovering, celebrating, and preserving our local history. Thank you for stopping by, Susan. Only 5 more to go! 🏛️👏🏾

Last night, we celebrated the life and legacy of Amaza Lee Meredith at the opening for Dear Mazie at The Church here in Sag Harbor. Curated by ICA @ VCU, the exhibition featured local artists and archival works by and featuring Amaza herself. We were glad to support the community and show up for two of Eastville's leaders, Michael Butler and Donnamarie Barnes.

ECHS Executive Director Dr. Georgette Grier-Key is taking the conversation to the fireside.

Join us as Dr. Grier-Key, Long Island Regional Director for the NYS NAACP Conference, serves as Fireside Chat Moderator for Reimagine Democracy: Restructuring Our Future & Restoring Our Rights, presented by the Social Action Committee of the Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The program will also feature Congressman Gregory Meeks as keynote speaker.
