Ben Fenske paints scenes so satisfying, you want to jump inside them! I’m not sure where i’d rather be: under the shade of the mature locust trees beside the creek, or inside one of those historic 19th century homes. Fenske allows the viewer to fantasize about spending a gorgeous sunlit day on Shelter Island.

Ben Fenske’s tuscan table setting still life paintings are mesmerizing. The explosion of lilacs takes center stage, yet the open drawer in the foreground is really what invited the viewer into the scene. A knife rests beside a wheel of cheese, asking for the viewer to cut a slice and taste it. It’s a still life painting of a lived life ! 🧀💐🍷
