In 2009, patients at Fulton State Hospital were given a chance to be a part of the Pillows of Unrest project created by Chief Operating Officer Marty Martin and Client Advocate Sharon Britten. Patients were given Sharpies and a pillow case to express their struggles with mental illness. They created messages of hope, and told their stories about how they came to the hospital.
