A decade or so ago, we set up a temporary exhibition of works from our Permanent Collection at the gorgeous Saint Paul City Hall and Courthouse. Last month all of the pieces came home for our summer show, Art from the Lathe.

Family in town? We are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, but open on our usual Fridays and Sundays, 12-4.

Let the lighting begin! We are thrilled to open a show in partnership with Minnesota-based PAN-Project for Art in Nature. Works on canvas and paper (even corrugated cardboard) and textiles are going to pair beautifully with wood art! December 7 to January 25th. Closing reception January 25th, 1-4

Seasons are changing and we are starting to stock up in the Gallery of Wood Art gift shop. This sweet box is by new gallery artist Stephan Bossert. At 2.5" x 3.5" it is ready to serve as a ring box, a secret spot for natural treasures, or simply as a lovely piece all on its own.

"Born in 1954 in Invernay, Saskatchewan, and largely self-taught, Michael Hosaluk is internationally celebrated for his inventive approach to woodturning. His work spans functional vessels, furniture, and sculptural pieces, often incorporating elements of humor, gesture, and narrative. Inspired by architecture, nature, and cultural influences, Hosaluk’s pieces reflect a deep connection to materials and storytelling. His innovative techniques and surface treatments push the boundaries of traditional woodturning, elevating it to an expressive and contemporary art form." (All that and it just feels REALLY GOOD to be in a space filled with his work.)
