ry, we believe that creating art is an essential human activity — one that should be encouraged and supported at all levels. Not only is art one of the few languages that can transcend all others, it can also unify where other attempts fail. Also, the skills of careful observation that we focus on developing, can be used in other fields and areas of study. Our Art AFA degree program is a focused, two-year study of fine arts with a strong grounding in principles of design, practical studio practices, and art history. The Associate in Fine Arts degree is intended primarily for students who plan to transfer to another college to complete a baccalaureate degree in fine art. It can be considered as the first two years of a four-year program in Fine Arts.
