The gallery is transformed! This makes me want plants and chocolate here all the time! Art, chocolate and bonsai really go well together. Beautiful trees at an incredible price for trees of this age. Truffle Shuffle made botanical chocolates just for the moment. And John Collins Tantrum prints, up for only a couple more weeks! Get out of this random May rain and check out the gallery this weekend!

Art (and bonsai) ( and chocolate) makes life better!

Bonsai! A little tease for next weekend, when Robert Nordyke will be popping up with a curated selection of his hand grown bonsai trees... Each one a work of living art. Sat May 16 12-6 and Sunday May 17 from 12-4. We'll also be hosting on Saturday with nature inspired chocolates.

Interesting in hosting a pop up or event at Salem on the Edge? From us a line with your ideas! We are interested in letting the gallery grow into a space that serves our community even more :)

Patrice Cameron started in watercolor, moved to acrylics in 2021 and somewhere along the way has now found her way to oil on canvas and a trail dissolving into air and light.

We've loved having Cameron's paintings of rivers and waterfalls in the gallery, but in her latest works, she takes us somewhere new: the path we take to the quiet. Her painting A Walk to Remember reminds me of climbing Mt. Piscah to catch the sunset on a misty Oregon day. Luminous!

On display now at Salem on the Edge, A Walk to Remember, oil on canvas, 22 ร— 28, $1250. DM for purchase.

Daemion Lee grew up on the southern Oregon coast, which helps explain why his love of Oregon's wild spaces bleeds through into every one of his watercolor paintings: thru the Umpqua Narrows, along the Willamette, up into the Cascade peaks, along a railroad track, and into a lavender field filled with honeybees.

A Bee's Home, watercolor, 16 x 20, $450. Now on view at Salem on the Edge. DM for purchase.

If you look long enough, this painting starts looking back ๐Ÿ‘€

Salem on the Edge represented artist Zachary McRae builds his large-scale abstractions through an intuitive, automatic process, layering oil and acrylic over weeks and months until the painting fuses into being on its own term. Self-taught and local to Salem, McRae views his painting studio practice as sacred, and the art that emerges from it is wild, playful, abstract and compelling.

Pet, oil & acrylic on canvas, 30x34, on view now. $625. DM about purchasing.

We love having Monte Shelton's large paintings filling the gallery. Tomorrow (Saturday) is Slow Art Day and we invite you to step into the gallery, take a pause, a deep breath, and really *look* at the art... There are so many details and hidden secrets in Shelton's paintings to discover. We'll be open from 12-6, and other local art galleries in Salem and across the country are also participating in so it might be a great day to step out of the returned rain and support your local art galleries and artists :)

This Saturday we are host a fundraising pop-up art sale for PCUN farmworkers union. Some incredible art has been donated by local artists, and 100% of every sale goes directly to PCUN. The art will be up from 12-6, with a reception from 4-6. PCUN will be speaking at the event. This is a great way to connect to the community, learn about an organization doing real work, and find beautiful art at a great price while support a great cause. Art makes life better!
