Our staff brings gallery and museum experience from San Francisco, Santa Fe and New York City. Established in 2003, our spacious, skylit gallery/studio features oil paintings and pastels from traditional to post impressionistic. Themes include jazzy cityscapes and

dramatic dance series by Karen Horne, appealing gardens and dramatic landscapes of the Wasatch front by Phyllis Horne.

Saluting Mothers on this special day!

And what a remarkable mother we have in Phyllis Horne. She raised six children as well as established herself as a noted regional painter - and was selected as an Honored Artist of Utah. Her paintings bring joy and memories to so many collectors!

FLASHBACK! -
Visiting the studio of Randall Lake Art, reminded us of the times we had the opportunity to include his work into our early group theme shows. We included the showstopper, Crustacean Etiquette ..., into our early 2004 Glorious Food Show. (see flyer). Later in 2015, we were excited to spotlight his red studio painting into our Exploring RED exhibition. We have a snap of Randall, ever the perfectionist, adding final touch ups to the painting in the gallery. An honor to include your work, Randall!

Another piece just off the easel in the Salt Lake City series...the artist created a view coming up State street in a smaller format, catching the State Capitol's frontage in softer light.

"Art in the Rotunda"
What a lively event yesterday at the Utah State Capitol

It was an honor for Karen Horne to join with other visual and musical artists! She chose to demonstrate her approach to pastel painting, since its less familiar to the public than the oil medium.

The rotunda was abuzz with activity and Karen had the opportunity to discuss her process with numerous visitors and officials! Many appreciated her recent artworks celebrating the magnificent Utah State Capitol.

As the 2026 Winter Olympics get underway, our thoughts turn back to Salt Lake City's 2002 events. Artist Karen Horne had the opportunity to observe the cross-country skiing at Soldier Hollow, and created a group of artworks capturing the lively crowds along the course, with their colorful parkas and flags. This is the first in the series.

UPDATE- this painting has been collected!

Just in - this oil painting celebrating the route up to the Utah State Capitol. The artist loved the way the historic Eagle Gate frames the view up State street, and how the autumn colors add warmth and drama.

Heading Up to the State Capitol, by Karen Horne, oil on linen, 20x20 canvas, 27x27 w frame. SOLD
