Early this month, we enjoyed hosting the unveiling of this large painting in step with the beginning of the Transplant Games which took place in SLC during Aug. 2nd-7th. The artist, Anne Ruth Isaacson is a SLC resident, retiring from the San Francisco area.

Anne Ruth is a narrative painter, telling the stories of significant human events. In this painting she tells the story of two presently healthy women, each of them once desperately needed the gift of transplant to survive.

News coverage of the unveiling, tells the story of each woman standing in this narrative painting (try Googling for it)...

Tammy, needed a set of lungs, and as she waited on the transplant list she lost a lung, which caused her heart to slide from its own place into the lung cavity. Her surgeon advised for her to have the best chance at survival, she would require a combined lung and heart transplant.

She hoped that her own displaced, yet functioning heart might still benefit another person. Subsequently, at Stanford Hospital, when Tammy received lungs and heart from an anonymous donor, she in turn gifted her heart to Linda. This has come to be known as the Domino Effect.

Linda answered questions at the unveiling and participated in the Transplant Games as a bicyclist.

You can view this painting here at Michael Berry Gallery for one more week, before it travels from here to San Francisco.

May was the "walk in" record month here at the gallery. Abigail Mitchell's art was on the walls, and every day people walking by, caught a glimpse of her figures through our windows, and were compelled to come through our doors for a closer look. They were captivated. We really enjoyed having Abby's work here, and expect there will be future fabulous paintings on Abby's easel. Now its time to set out paintings for this Friday, June 15th Gallery Stroll. Join us then to welcome the most recent works of Willamarie Huelskamp. See you here, 6-9 p.m. this Friday.

We've had colorful fun here at the gallery, since the last gallery stroll. Now Jill Creedh Bauer's colorful work will move from the main walls to the downstairs gallery, where it can be seen until the first of June. We wish to thank Alexandria and Tom Shankweiler for their long running exhibit. Tomorrow morning we will post samples of the work of Abigail Mitchell who will take the wall for the May 18th Gallery Stroll.

We are putting a "Shout Out" to anyone interested in an art sale going on here, specifically on certain large abstracts currently hanging in the gallery. If you know anyone decorating their new homes, apartments or offices, have them inquire with Mike who can offer substantial discounts toward their purchase. Corporate art buyers, these sizes are just right to make that awesome impression for your clients.
