The building's gold rush era stone foundation was crumbling, threatening the building and making it noticeably unlevel. Thanks to a lot of fundraising the building has just been lifted 25 inches and now sits on blocks so the foundation can be rebuilt using modern masonry which will last another 170 years and beyond.

Calaveras Frog Jump Day 1! Emma our Director and Kris our Research & Museum Assistant jumped frogs. Zie our Assistant Director will be taking the late shifts after her perfomaces in around the fairgrounds! (Go check out those wonderful ladies!)
