The Lopez Adobe, after several years of restoration, refurnishing and reinterpretation, is again open to the public on the 4th Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteer docents will be available to give free tours, explaining the history of the house, the Lopez famlly and the San Fernando area. nterstate 5, exit San Fernando Mission Blvd. Turn right on Pico. Either park on the street or the city parking lot on the left across from the adobe. From the 118 Freeway, exit San Fernando Road and turn left. Turn left on Maclay and either park on Maclay or make a right on Pico and park there. What is actually going on inside that house right now?! The Lopez Adobe is currently getting a much needed face lift and has been enjoying the attention of a team of curators, archivists, conservators, historians, and dedicated volunteers to revamp the house’s interior. This includes everything from cleaning and repairing to organizing the adobe’s vast collection of books and documents. We hope to present the public with our finished work some time soon, and will be offering up the adobe as a window into the past through which visitors can get a real sense of the passage of time both in this historic home and in the city of San Fernando as well.
