San Francisco Botanical Garden connects people to plants, the planet, and each other. San Francisco’s unique Botanical Garden inspires visitors with the extraordinary diversity of rare and unusual plants that can be grown in coastal California. Through its programs and displays, the Garden cultivates the bond between people and plants and instills a deeper understanding of the necessity to conserv

As a public/private partnership between a community-based nonprofit organization and the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, and a beloved San Francisco institution, we are committed to transparency, cultural diversity, inclusion, and environmentally responsible practices. We are proud to be a public public garden, accessible to all and grateful to the funders who help sustain us.

It’s Amorphophallus season at the Conservatory! Leaves and blooms from these co**se flower relatives are growing throughout the galleries.

❤️ The Amorphophallus konjac has a deep red-brown bloom, cultivated in Asia for thousands of years for its edible, starchy corms used in noodles, flour, jelly, and more.
🌿 Beside it is the striking pink-edged leaf of Amorphophallus atrovirdis, native to Thailand.

Plan your visit soon and look for other Amorphophallus plants in the Potted Plants gallery!

Last weekend's Gala for the Gardens was our most impactful yet! Together we raised more than $675,000 to support our Gardens, educations programs, and conservation efforts.

Huge thanks to our honorees Ruth and Ken Wilcox for their inspiring remarks and to our special guest speaker author Margaret Renkl who reminded us that planting a garden, no matter how small, provides joy and resilience in uncertain times. We are so grateful to our generous sponsors, Gala committee, board, and staff who helped make this happen. 🌸
