Now live through Memorial Day, our Spring Art Auction features hundreds of original paintings, drawings, and sculptures from the gallery inventory that have rarely been revisited in recent years. After nearly 16 years of exhibitions, Modern Eden Gallery is doing a little spring cleaning! For the first time ever, we’re offering a special Spring Art Auction featuring hundreds of works from the gallery inventory, including original paintings, drawings, and sculptures from past shows. Beginning Friday, May 22 at 10:00 AM PDT, collectors will have the chance to acquire artwork at exceptional opening bids, with pieces starting as low as 10% of retail. It’s a rare opportunity to discover remarkable works at unusually accessible prices before bidding closes on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 at 6:00 PM PDT.

Opening June 4! THE PORTRAIT SHOW 14: MASQUERADE

Modern Eden Gallery proudly presents The Portrait Show 14: Masquerade, our annual portrait show and a yearly tradition celebrating the many forms of contemporary portraiture. This year’s theme explores the power of what we reveal and what we conceal. A mask can protect, transform, seduce, or liberate, hiding the face while exposing something deeper beneath. Through disguise, performance, ritual, and self invention, artists examine identity as something fluid, layered, and unstable. From ceremonial masks and theatrical personas to alter egos, private selves, and imagined identities, Masquerade considers the tension between who we are and who we choose to present. These portraits move beyond likeness, embracing the figure as a site of transformation that is elegant, uncanny, fractured, defiant, and beautifully artificial, revealing the many selves we carry behind the face.

Nadezda: Hopscotch

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of Hopscotch, Nadezda’s whimsical new collection at the gallery. The evening was filled with imagination, laughter, music, and meaningful connection as guests explored playful new works, hopped through chalk games, chased bubbles, and embraced their inner child together.

One of the highlights of the evening was our live “Portal to Spain,” where visitors had the chance to speak directly with Nadezda from across the ocean, creating a magical bridge between worlds that felt perfectly in step with the spirit of the exhibition. Stephanie Law’s beautiful live handpan performance added another layer of wonder to the night, filling the gallery with an atmosphere both joyful and dreamlike.

If you were unable to attend, we hope you’ll stop by and spend some time discovering these imaginative worlds with us before the exhibition ends on May 24, 2026.
