Dear Friends,

Like all of you, our day-to-day life has been disrupted as we stay at home to stop the coronavirus spread. We feel so sad to see our communities suffering and anxious. We feel even worse that we can't be open for you right now and can't offer a space of connection and creativity, as we have through other crises. We miss our friends, we miss in-person art openings and readings, and we miss having an open shop.

To stay in business until we can open our doors again, we're asking for donations of $31 in honor of our 31st year in the Mission District in San Francisco. With your contribution, you will be able to choose an Adobe t-shirt, tote bag, enamel pin, or a three-month book membership.

When we reach our goal of $31,000, we will enter everyone who has donated into a drawing for an original Barry McGee artist plate.

Even in the best of times, running an independent bookstore is not easy. We are grateful to have the support of so many eclectic friends, coop members and volunteers, and patrons over the past 31 years – particularly in the past few years as we moved locations and became a cooperative. You inspire us to keep a good thing going. Thank you! Please donate $31 or an amount that makes sense for you, share with your friends and family, and see you on the other side.
