Figura textil elaborada con fibras de algodón y otros materiales orgánicos, caracterizada por su rostro geométrico tejido y su vestimenta de colores naturales con detalles decorativos. Estas muñecas constituyen una de las manifestaciones más emblemáticas de la tradición textil Chancay y reflejan el alto nivel técnico y simbólico alcanzado por sus artesanos. Su diseño estilizado y expresivo las convierte en valiosos testimonios del arte y la cosmovisión de esta antigua sociedad andina.

This dress was worn by Janet Sherlock Smith, a Mormon convert born in Scotland who emigrated to the United States in 1861. After walking across half the continent to Utah, Janet sewed this bodice and skirt for her wedding to Richard Sherlock. The dress was featured in both the How the West Was Won and Empire and Liberty: The Civil War and the West exhibitions.
