We did it! Thank you for helping us raise $###X on Gator Giving Day!

Your support helped us in a BIG way!

Your donations help us properly compensate student curator, Keone Nakakura, and participating artists for the amazing work that they do!

Your donations fund exhibition development and installation costs for Life and the Inevitable and related public programming – including gallery tours, artist talks, and community workshops.

Your donations help sustain operating costs for San Francisco State Fine Arts Gallery allowing creative spaces that are foundational and supportive of student development and success to remain FREE for the community.

Lastly, we invite you to join us in August 2026 for the opening of Life and the Inevitable curated by student curator, Keone Nakakura, to see the impact of your donations!

Thank YOU! We couldn’t have done it without you. See you next year at Gator Giving Day!

Mara Duvra’s A Holding Place invites visitors to sit, read, and meditate on what they are holding space for. The installation centers the quiet and the quotidian, creating space for reflection on what we are carrying, emotionally and politically. Duvra asks: What is momentary, and what is ongoing? What do we continue to hold, and what do we choose to hold onto?

Come ponder at “slow burn” from noon-4pm Tuesday-Friday, now until April 4
Open by appointment only during SFSU’s Spring Break, March 23-27. Send an email to [email protected] to request an appointment

From “slow burn” guest curated by Lorena Molina.
Joshua Guadalupe Moreno presents a temporary sculptural installation Between Baucis and Two Bays
“Using materials gathered between San Francisco and Monterey Bay, I assembled an installation of found objects arranged into a tenuous cityscape. I see these structures as metaphors for precarity. Each element stands in for roads, geological formations, or buildings, balanced in ways that could easily give way, yet persist through careful arrangement.”
Come check out this amazing piece and so many more by other artists on display from February 21 - April 4
