Heartfelt feedback from teachers and students continues to inspire our team at Mission San Juan Capistrano every single day.

As the school year winds to a close, we are grateful for the many classrooms who have visited the Mission and participated in our Remember the Builders® education program, engaging in hands-on learning experiences including the Mission Matters brick-making class, the student audio tour “If These Walls Could Talk,” and guided tours with volunteers and staff. We are honored to be part of so many students’ learning journeys and deeply appreciate the educators who make these experiences possible.

In our 250th anniversary year, reviews like these encourage us to continue welcoming students with a renewed sense of purpose — sharing the beauty, history, and spirit of this treasured landmark with every visit.

Hundreds of American flags now fill the Mission’s Central Courtyard as part of the 2026 Field of Honor® at Mission San Juan Capistrano, presented in partnership with Homefront America. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mamie Maywhort and her husband, Adam, whose dedication and leadership make this tribute possible. Each one of these flags stands in recognition of the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country and communities.

Throughout the day, guests gathered in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for our military, veterans, and first responders whose service and sacrifice continue to inspire us all.

We invite you to experience this moving tribute firsthand, now through Monday, May 25. Please note: In observance of Memorial Day, the Mission Grounds will be open with special hours from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
