The LBJ Museum of San Marcos has announced the creation of the “Claudia Taylor Johnson Endowment” in honor of Lady Bird Johnson, the former First Lady of the United States. The Claudia Taylor Johnson Endowment will raise funds from donations and gifts to create new exhibits, update existing exhibits, support museum programs, obtain new artifacts, and to host visiting exhibits from other museums. he LBJ Museum will sponsor “Spring Shindig 2016, An LBJ Party at the Texas White House,” as its first major fund raiser for the Claudia Taylor Johnson Endowment on April 23, 2016 at the Lyndon B. This inaugural kick-off promises an exciting night of major Texas music featuring Michael Martin Murphey, Kent Black’s Barbecue with Johnson family favorite 'fixings', local wine and beer tastings and unique auction items. Individual tickets for Spring Shindig 2016: An LBJ Party at the Texas White House, are on sale now for the April 23 event at the LBJ National Historic Park in Stonewall, TX, benefiting the Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum of San Marcos.
Tickets are $90 and may be purchased online at www.lbjmuseum.com/springshindig, All tickets must be purchased in advance.
Spring Shindig guests will enjoy reserved parking and seating in the Live Oak Grove at LBJ’s Texas White House. Entertainment will feature Texas music great Michael Martin Murphey, Jan Seides and Ryan Scott Travis. Kent Black’s famous barbecue will be served, along with wine and beer tasting from Hill Country wineries and breweries. The program will include a live auction of unique items.
Johnson's daughters Luci Johnson and Lynda Johnson Robb are the honorary chairs for the event.
Sponsorship's are available with VIP parking, prime seating and special perks at the following levels:
• Presidential: $10,000: pre-event reception with special guests, reserved table for eight in prime location, elegant keepsake gifts, VIP parking, sponsorship listing and table recognition
• Vice Presidential: $7,500: pre-event reception with special guests, reserved table for 8 in prime location; elegant keepsake gifts, VIP parking, sponsorship listing and table recognition.
• Senatorial: $5,000: Reserved table for 8 in prime location, elegant keepsake gifts, reserved parking, sponsorship listing and table recognition
• Congressional;, $2,500; Reserved table for 8 with preferred seating, keepsake gifts, reserved parking, sponsorship listing & table recognition
• Wildflower: $1,000: reserved table for 8, reserved parking, preferred seating, sponsorship listing and table recognition.
Spring Shindig 2016 will benefit the Claudia Taylor (Lady Bird) Johnson Endowment, supporting the museum’s exhibits and archives. The museum is dedicated to the years President Johnson spent as a college student at Texas State University in San Marcos and his experiences as a teacher in South Texas.
The endowment honors Lady Bird Johnson’s significant contributions to his political career and to the nation.

Luci Baines Johnson and Lynda Johnson Robb will be the honorary chairs of Spring Shindig 2016: An LBJ Party at the Texas White House on April 23, 2016, an event celebrating the legacies of their parents, President Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson.

The Spring Shindig is the first major fund-raiser for the Claudia Taylor Johnson Endowment—established in honor of Lady Bird Johnson to support exhibits, programs, and the historic collection at the LBJ Museum of San Marcos.
