The Visitacion Valley Holiday Light Festival is a community art event where families can explore and interact with light art by local Bay Area artists. Leland Corridor businesses will stay open late to provide warm bites and beverages. Family-friendly activities include photo booths, Visitacion Valley history movie showings, Christmas Carol Karaoke, and a live jazz band.

Local community organizations will be there to share their latest offerings and resources. And it will all happen under the wonderful glow of holiday lights!

We have some exciting news!

Special thanks, and sorry for the oversight, to Ms. Theresa Rose of The Bay Wood Neighbors Home Owners Association. She was directly responsible for overseeing this project, thank you! The Bay Wood Island Project has taken flight!

Artists John Sutti & Jim Murphy have been working on a butterfly-themed public arts sculpture installed at the intersections of Kentucky & Nevada streets in San Mateo’s Baywood neighborhood.

To celebrate this installation, the City of San Mateo and The Bay Wood Neighbors Home Owners Association are hosting an on-site dedication ceremony this Saturday, 6/11/22, at 1:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

Installation details: The 3-D sculpture is comprised of three separate overlapping panels - two measuring 36” in x 72” in and the third one measuring 36” in. X 48” in. The material used is plate steel, galvanized metal, and automotive paints.

Zoetic Tapestry Project funded this art and landscaping project.
