San Saba County Historical Museum Welcome to San Saba's Only Historical Museum! The San Saba County Historical Museum will take you places you could have never imagined.

Walk through our doors and step into Grandma's Attic, Grandpa's Tack Room or stand at the window of our original post office. The museum is open for public tours from April - October on Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm. Volunteer docents will guide your free tour and provide delicious details about our exhibits and the folks who contributed them. We are certified by the IRS as a 501c3 charity and welcome your donations.

A new exhibit of something old. Our “48 star” flag is up in the Honors room. The “48 star” version of Ol Glory was official from July 4,1912 to July 3, 1959, when Alaska and Hawaii joined the union.
As mentioned in a previous post our annual meeting will be this Sunday at the Father’s House. The speaker will be Curt Locklear speaking about General Ben McCullogh. The event starts at 2.
The Museum will be open Saturday and Sunday (yes it will be open Sunday) from 1:30 to 4. Located in beautiful Mill Pond Park. Admission is free, donations appreciated. Come by and see us.

Well, it’s that time of year. Graduation!!! After many years of hard work a lot of our young citizens here in San Saba County are celebrating a right of passage. Many will go on to higher education, some will enlist and serve our nation in the military and some will pursue and master careers they have already begun. Congratulations and blessings to all of you. Make us proud.
Come by the San Saba County Historical Museum this weekend and check out some of our school related exhibits and some of the people from San Saba that went on to achieve notable accomplishments.

This weekend we celebrate Memorial Day. A holiday that ranks up there just below Christmas and Easter in my humble opinion. We need to take time to reflect on the people who have sacrificed their lives to keep us a free nation.
So while the brisket is smoking take some time to visit the San Saba County Historical Museum at Mill Pond Park. We feature several locals in our Honors Room who spent part of their lives serving our nation.
We will be open 1:30 to 4, Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free, donations appreciated. Hope to see you there.

Here at the San Saba County Historical Museum we are always looking for ways to improve your experience.
That’s why you should visit often so you can see new exhibits and upgrades. I have a new exhibit being assembled in my shop, coming soon.
