Happy Lunar New Year from Sandusky Cultural Center! To celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake, we've filled our hall cases with perhaps our most extensive collection of zodiac themed objects and artifacts to date. Slither on in to the Cultural Center to see this amazing assortment of serpentine carvings, ema, kokeshi, shikishi boards, and more. These snakes are not to be missed! The display will remain on view through the end of the current season, which will conclude on May 25, 2025.

THE YEAR OF THE WOOD SNAKE
The Year of the Snake in 2025 represents a time of growth, creativity, and introspection. With wood as its element in 2025, the Wood Snake brings an added layer of growth, resilience, and forward looking energy. This year encourages people to focus on self-development, cultivate relationships, and pursue long term goals with patience and diligence.

This is a time to reconsider the course of events which began in the previous Dragon Year. It may mean that one should back away from increasingly tense situations and review schemes which may be on the point of running off course. There will be back-biting and malice in the air.

People born in the Year of the Snake are often described as perceptive and intuitive, relying on their strong instincts before acting. Snakes tend to be calm under pressure and prefer to think things through, embodying a 'still waters run deep' mentality. Often quiet and introspective, Snakes have an enigmatic and mysterious quality, drawing people to them naturally.
