Seminole Cultural Arts Council

Seminole Cultural Arts Council Color your life. Support the arts! The Seminole Cultural Arts Council serves to advocate for Seminole County’s arts-rich community in Central Florida.

Formed in 1994, the Seminole Cultural Arts Council (SCAC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering sponsorships, fundraising events, a grants program, a county-wide arts and cultural map, community-based arts programming, and much more. SCAC is a catalyst for the preservation of local cultural and historic heritage, including performing, literary, and visual arts and sciences. Uti

lizing social media, SCAC acts as a
clearing house for arts and culture announcements in Seminole County and Central Florida. Our mission is to serve, support and nurture the cultural and artistic needs of our residents, and to sustain, develop and advance the cultural life of Seminole County. In May 1995, the Seminole County Board of Commissioners designated SCAC as the official recipient of
specialty Florida State of the ARTS license plate funds. With this and other fundraising efforts, SCAC is able to provide grants to arts and cultural organizations, individual artists, and the community. SCAC also works to support outreach programs for special populations, scholarships, educational exhibitions, and to maintain the affordability of community-based arts and cultural experiences and activities.

The Ensemble Company is accepting submissions for the role of MEIKO in their upcomingCentral Florida premiere of Jonathan Spector’s Tony Award-winning play, Eureka Day.

MEIKO (female-presenting, 20s-30s, HAPA, half white/half Pacific Islander):
Berkeley native. Wry sense of humor. Went to UC Berkeley and has never lived anywhere else, or wanted to. A landscape architect, which she’s good at but a little bored by. A year after the end of a tortured on again off-again eight-year relationship, became a single mother by choice, of Olivia. When her daughter was young, Meiko’s mother was effectively a co-parent, but less so now. Would like to have another child, but feels like she’s too old to think about doing it alone, again.

Rehearsals: beginning August 2, 2026
Performances: September 4 - 13, 2026

Interested performers should submit a videod monologue no longer than 2 minutes along with their headshot and résumé to [email protected]. Auditions will be accepted until the role is filled, but are requested no later than June 30, 2026.
