Lyon Air Museum is comprised of authentic aircraft, rare vehicles and related memorabilia, with emphasis on the defining event of the 20th century - World War II. Through captivating and thought provoking exhibits based in historical scholarship, visitors gain a better understanding of the important role the United States plays in shaping world history. Founded by Major General William Lyon, Lyon

Air Museum is located on the west side of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. Lyon Air Museum is collocated with Martin Aviation, an Air/Lyon Inc. company and award-winning general aviation repair facility established by the famed Eddie Martin back in 1923.

The 5TH ANNUAL HOT RODS ON THE TARMAC cruises back to Lyon Air Museum on Saturday, July 18th for a full day of chrome, horsepower, and vintage cool all set against the backdrop of historic aircraft on the Flightline. 😎✈️

From Coupes, Classic Roadsters, all the way to Pickups, Customs, and nostalgic Hot Rod icons. This annual tradition brings the spirit of Dry Lake Runs, Drag Strips, and old-school Drive-In culture roaring back to life. It’s the Summer Event YOU CANNOT MISS 🫵⏩🔥

Showcase what you’ve got! Submit your period correct Hot Rod for review by our Event Selection Committee. If approved, you’ll lock in your spot with a $40 Advance Registration Ticket.

1️⃣ Have a BMW? Put your ride center stage with EXCLUSIVE Flightline parking! Register today with a $35 Advance Registration Ticket. Spaces are limited! Registration closes Friday, June 12, 2026 at 3:00PM or when sold out.
