Heidi Ferguson and her family have been in the art industry for nearly three decades. Art has always been a vital part of their lives. After Heidi had two kids, the family became more aware of the lack of state funded art programs in public schools. The subject of how to keep art alive in the community as an integral part of children’s lives was often a topic of discussion with fellow mom, Sue You

ng. Heidi & Sue have kids in the same school and shared a collective interest and love for art and their kids. Sue received a BA in Studio Arts from UCSB and Heidi owns Elizabeth Gordon Gallery. The two moms wanted to leave a legacy to their kids and all kids that art is a vital part of life. Heidi offered to dedicate a part of her gallery to exhibit kids’ art. Schools were contacted to participate in an ongoing revolving kid’s exhibition. The response was overwhelming & enthusiastically received…thus “Art is Vital Gallery” was born.
