Fund A Curator What makes us great as artists is the way we use our art to express our individuality. I respect what all artists do as artists.

Artists tend to be outsiders who seek a since of belonging, but belonging on our own terms. Real respect is given by taking something that other artists do, making it our own, and then contributing to the community the way that it glorifies the community it self. The greater the contribution, the more we express and form our individuality. This is so important to a lot of us artists who feel like

rejects to begin with. With any medium you can take it and make it better and give it back so we as a community can grow. All I’m asking is to think about what drives you, what will make you do something that’s bigger than anyone of us as an individual. Something deeper that I learned from the greatest skateboarder in history is, to "not be stripped of your individuality, do it to create and have fun. I am very fortunate to send this out because if you're not already a leader in your community, you probably will be. There is an intrinsic value in creating something for the sake of creating. There is this beauty in creating something and dropping it into your community of your own making, and seeing it disperse and seeing younger better and just different talent take the art places you could have never imagined because this is how art lives on."
