Today was the send off of our friend Bob Knight. To hear how he touched so many people in so many different ways made me smile. He was an extremely talented artist, my dear friend and we will all miss him.
To see old friends, the hugs, the conversations warmed my heart and made today special beyond words.

The first time I hosted Robert Altman at the studio, after the show I asked him, who else do you know that could come down to the studio and host a show? He immediately said, Sam Cutler, he landed me a photo gig of the Stones in L.A. when I worked for Rolling Stone.
I reached out to Sam, he was totally chill and was game, he wanted to come by as soon as he hit the Bay Area. After Sam’s first visit I asked him, who do you know that could come down and do a show at the studio? He immediately took me over and introduced me to Rosie McGee (who also did a show at the studio and a dear friend). Sam came to the studio 3 times (twice with Joel Selvin and once with Brad Kava).
Those days were a blast and I met many folks I admire and love.
Sam was a legend and I’m honored that we were friends.
RIP Sam Cutler.

Trust me when I say that this is not easy for me, those that know me know that it is hard to ask for help. I am truly humbled that my dear friends have put this together and let me know that I am worth it and that the studio touched many lives.
It's true my future is very much up in the air, my injuries from my car accident are bogged down due to insurance snags, my breathing issues are being addressed, soon I will be getting a 3+ hour surgery that will help but it comes with a 3-4 week recuperation time.

Please support Phil! As most of you know, my Dad, Phil, has made the difficult decision to close Studio Bongiorno as of May 31, 2017. A number of factors influenced his decision: health issues, lease conflicts and a bit of burn out. Though the closure of the Studio is a big loss for the community,.....

Making the Best of Silicon Valley does not define us, its just nice to be recognized as we have in years past. 2015, 2016 and now (with your help) 2017.
