“I see twice the beauty and joy in life.”

I was born with a hidden challenge that I've had to face my entire life. It's made things a little more difficult for me, but I've always loved photography because it helps me to see the world in a different way. With my camera as my canvas, I can counter this challenge and see the world in all its beauty. With each press of the shutter release, I aim to

capture beautiful moments, colors, shapes, and textures. I respond to effects of light, interpret my experiences, and incorporate my communication design skills in order to bring together images that capture the essence of a moment in space and time. The evocative moments and ideas that inspire me to take a photo are just the beginning. With a degree in Communications Design from RIT and drawing on my background of printmaking from a time when film and darkrooms were still a thing, I carefully select and craft each image in the digital darkroom. I use a variety of digital tools to set the mood I
experienced in the moment of capture, and that which I wish to convey to draw the viewer in. I love to explore new techniques and investigate the elements. I passionately navigate interactions of color, tonal range, and textures to challenge myself to grow in my craft. I draw inspiration from nature and humanity, as well as artists and photographers from both past and present. To me, photography is more than just an art form, it's my way of storytelling and connecting with one another. My desire is for those of you who look at my photos on the wall or sit down in front of them in your home or workplace to feel as if you were there with me experiencing the moment and emotion as it happened. Thank you for being interested in my work. Please feel free to get in touch with me. I look forward to connecting soon. Experimenting with the iPhone 17 Pro Max last Sunday in Santa Cruz.

Three moments, captured quickly and converted in post to black & white.
I’ve been impressed by the continued improvement this camera delivers. Higher resolution, advanced computational photography for better dynamic range, improved low-light performance, and enhanced AI-assisted detail retention all make it a surprisingly capable tool. The larger screen makes composition easier—especially in bright sunlight—and the ability to hold the camera overhead opens up angles I might otherwise miss.

On screen, these moments sing—but for me, when it comes to walls and gallery spaces, my Canon R5 and glass still holds the quiet depth that transforms a print into an experience. Each camera offers its own kind of magic, and this one is a surprisingly nimble companion.

Curious—which of the three images holds your attention most?

To Sea Is To Live (continued :)

This morning at Asilomar, the tide stepped back and the shoreline opened up—quiet, patient, and shifting in the early light. The sand caught the sunrise glow, gulls lifted into the sky, and snowy plovers moved in a steady rhythm with the water—each step a small, bright moment.

The day kept giving, then slowly let its glow fade into evening.
When the light slipped away, the boardwalk became a quiet pathway into night.

Some places don’t ask to be photographed.
They simply ask that you arrive slowly.

If you’d like to wander along, follow the journey.

To Sea Is To Live

During this past weekend’s King Tide along the Santa Cruz coast, the ocean briefly stepped back. Tide pools surfaced. Light shifted. A hidden world revealed itself, knowing it would not last.

Sea anemones opened in the shallows, catching the light of the day—fragile in form, resilient in presence. With each shift in light, they became something new. Alongside them, the low tide exposed patterns and life that usually remain unseen, waiting patiently for the water’s return.

These moments are fleeting by nature. They aren’t meant to be held. But they remind me that the wild is always in motion—advancing, retreating, and offering just enough for those willing to arrive quietly.

🎶 Dashing through the year… 🎶

A year goes by faster than we expect.
Photos help us notice it as it passes.

My 2026 calendars are still available — two collections shaped by time outdoors and moments that asked me to pause before pressing the shutter (even when the world was moving fast).

🦌 Wildlife — 13 images from the U.S., Costa Rica, and Africa. Quiet stares, wild spaces, zero agendas.

🍂 Colorado Scenic — 13 images — autumn color at its peak, mountain air, along with one astonishing moment with the Milky Way.

two might feel even better.

A quick day-and-a-half escape down the coast to Big Sur — a quiet way to celebrate our wedding anniversary this past week.

The fog was in thick, the air cool and still. Not exactly postcard weather, but when nature throws you a curveball, you don’t fight it — you flow with it.

I’ve learned to look for beauty in all its moods — rain, shine, or wrapped in fog. Go high, get above the clouds, sprinkle in a dash of sunset… and there it was — a view that felt like a gift!

Sometimes the best moments — in life and in light — appear when you simply let them.

🌄 A year of Colorado’s magic, captured just for you! And a reminder of why I chase the light.

The cold mornings. The still air before sunrise.
Those moments when you feel both small and infinite all at once.

Colorado has a way of humbling you — with its endless ridgelines, quiet forests, and skies that seem to hold their breath.

Each image in my 2026 Colorado Scenic Scapes Calendar was born from those rare moments of stillness and awe — when the world felt both wild and peaceful, and I was fortunate enough to be there with a camera.

I hope these images bring a bit of that feeling into your home —
a reminder to slow down, look closer, and step outside more often.
— No hiking boots required.

Time to Fall in love... in Colorado

Wow, what a view. Fresh off my trip to the mountains of Colorado, I was hoping to catch the beautiful fall colors, and this scene from Molas Pass did not disappoint. It felt like the entire world was painted in autumn’s richest hues.

The sheer scale of it all is almost impossible to capture, but this photo comes close to sharing the magic. It’s one of those moments that simply reminds you how beautiful the world can be. This is just the first of many photos from the trip—so much more to share. Stay tuned!

Have you been to Colorado in the fall? Let me know your favorite spots!
