It's go time! Our Western Viewpoints artist reception kicks off tonight from 5–7pm with James Ayers, Noah Desmond, and Barry Thomas. The evening will be full of fresh new work, delightful libations from As Above, So Below Distillery, and live music by Zoë Evans.

Rounding out our artist spotlights for the show is Noah Desmond. Inspired by nature, Noah has an impressionistic style that lives on the borders of abstraction, creating landscapes and florals with bold colors and a sense of movement that pulls you deep into the work.

Noah is compelled by the physical movement of the body and brush with each stroke. He layers pigments with both palette knife and brush, building textured canvases full of push and pull between foreground and background. The result is exciting landscapes, playful yet sophisticated florals, and fields rich in depth and charged with emotion.

Drop by tonight to see Noah's stunning work alongside the rest of the artists!

Our Western Viewpoints artist reception is this Friday, May 22nd from 5–7pm featuring James Ayers, Noah Desmond, and Barry Thomas!

Today we're spotlighting the atmospheric and dynamic work of Barry Thomas. At the core of Barry's practice is lived experience. He immerses himself in the environments he paints (whether riding with horses or spending time with ranchers) to absorb the physical and emotional atmosphere of a place before bringing it to canvas.

Trained in illustration and shaped by an early career in the pre-digital film industry, Barry balances classical draftsmanship with expressive, texture-driven abstraction. Subjects like horses emerge with anatomical clarity while their surroundings dissolve into layered textures and gestural movement.

"I don't just observe what I paint—I go into it. The photograph might capture the image, but the experience is what gives the painting its life."

Swing by the gallery this Friday for lively artist discussions, new artworks, live music by Zoë Evans, and cocktails by As Above, So Below Distillery!

Exhibition runs through May 31st.

Join us Friday, May 22nd from 5–7pm for our Western Viewpoints artist reception, featuring James Ayers, Noah Desmond, and Barry Thomas!

Today we're spotlighting James Ayers. An American contemporary figurative and landscape painter, James spent years traveling the world, from Native America to Africa's Great Rift Valley, gathering inspiration along the way.

James works in oils, layering thick impasto with palette knives, brushes, and brayer rollers. Scraping, scratching, splattering, drips of paint, sometimes even graphite or crayon on top. The result is paintings full of texture, movement, and energy.

"It's the act of creating a painting that excites me. I really like seeing people get lost in those textures and layers as if they're daydreaming."

Swing by the gallery for lively artist discussions, new works, live music by Zoë Evans, and cocktails by As Above, So Below Distillery!
Exhibition runs through May 31st.
