Of this new series, Cochran states, ""l've been trying something new and it has felt great. I've always enjoyed the Futurists and Orphism. This is my attempt at painting a southwest landscape in a style that combines those two styles. I had a good time doing and I am anxious to do some more."

Manitou is pleased to present A Weekend with Jeff Cochran, a two-day live painting event featuring new works by the acclaimed Taos-based artist. Known for his bold color, expressive palette knife technique, and deep connection to Northern New Mexico, Cochran creates landscapes that capture the region’s rugged beauty, changing light, and timeless spirit.

Working from his high desert property outside Taos, Cochran draws inspiration from a life immersed in the land itself. His paintings balance realism and romance, conveying the energy, atmosphere, and authenticity of the places he knows firsthand.

Throughout the weekend, guests will have the opportunity to watch Cochran paint live, gain insight into his creative process, meet the artist, and acquire new works fresh from the studio.
