🏴‍☠️🌙 PJs, Pirates & PLAY! 🌙🏴‍☠️

PJ Night at the CRR Discovery Museum was an absolute adventure! 💜

Our little explorers came dressed in their coziest pajamas and spent the evening creating, building, imagining, searching for treasure, and sailing into some serious pirate fun. From the Maker Lab to magnetic masterpieces and plenty of laughs along the way, the Museum was buzzing with curiosity and joy. 🧲🎨✨

There is something extra magical about getting to explore the Museum after hours… especially when pajamas and pirate hats are involved! 🏴‍☠️😴

Thank you to every family who joined us and to our incredible Museum team for making nights like this so special. 💜

Because childhood should be filled with opportunities to wonder, create, belong, and PLAY.

From pajamas and Play Doh to kindness, creativity, stories, and pirates, we have a month full of playful learning and hands on discovery waiting for your family. 🦖🎨📚🏴‍☠️

Calling all young explorers! Join us for a special Treasure Hunt Pajama Party at the CRR Discovery Museum!

Kids ages 5 to 12 can come dressed in their favorite PJs for an evening of adventure, music, treasure hunting, and after hours museum fun! 🌙✨

🗓️ Friday, September 4
⏰ 6:00 to 9:00 PM

🔎 Treasure Hunt throughout the museum
🎶 Featuring DJ Pete from A Class Act Entertainment

🦴♟️ Dig. Discover. CHECKMATE!

It was a BIG day for curious minds at the Discovery Museum! 🔍✨

Our young explorers got their hands dirty digging, cracking, and uncovering fossils like real paleontologists 🦖🦴 and then traded their excavation tools for chess pieces to put their brains to work in a whole new way! ♟️🧠

From discovering what’s hidden beneath the surface to thinking several moves ahead, this is what learning through play looks like. Messy hands, focused minds, big discoveries, and LOTS of fun!

Because at the Discovery Museum, there’s always something new to discover, explore, and learn! 💙🧡

🌙✨ PJ NIGHT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! ✨🌙

What happens when you mix pajamas, popcorn, creativity, colorful lights, hands on activities, and a museum full of kids after hours? A whole lot of FUN! 🎉🍿🚀

Our Back to School Pajama Party filled the Discovery Museum with laughter, imagination, crafting, exploring, and plenty of pajama clad adventurers. From creating their own treasures to gathering together for special activities, these kids made the museum their own for the night. 💕🔭

But our favorite part was kids making new friends. Staff jumping into the fun. And a museum buzzing with the kind of joyful chaos that tells us something wonderful is happening.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible Discovery Museum team who poured so much energy into making the evening special. From preparing activities and popping popcorn to welcoming families and making sure every little explorer felt included, you made the magic happen. ❤️

And most of all, thank you to every explorer who showed up in your PJs and spent the evening with us! We loved having you.

Judging by those smiles… we might just have to do this again. 😉🌙

Whether your child is learning the game for the very first time or already thinking a few moves ahead, our Discovery Museum Chess Class is the perfect place to build confidence, sharpen critical thinking, and have fun!

Led by Robert M. Holland, “Doctor Chess,” these engaging classes help children strengthen problem solving, patience, strategy, and sportsmanship, all while enjoying the excitement of the game.

Every great hero has a superpower… but the greatest one isn’t flying or super strength.

It’s imagination.

With an exciting new superhero movie soaring into theaters this weekend, we’re celebrating something every child already has: the ability to dream, create, and become anything they imagine.

Whether they’re wearing a cape made from a blanket, a crown of flowers, a cardboard shield, or a costume they designed themselves, dramatic play helps children build confidence, creativity, problem solving skills, empathy, communication, and courage.

We believe every child is the hero of their own story. Their greatest adventures begin not on a movie screen, but in backyards, living rooms, classrooms, and museums where imagination comes to life.

So this weekend, grab a cape, invent a superpower, and let your child’s imagination save the day.
