Have you noticed ⭐ gold stars ⭐ on some of the art at this year's exhibit? A few artists have stepped forward to request that the proceeds of the sale of their art be donated directly to the family of our late friend and former Vice President and Gallery Director, Augie Diaz. You'll find a star added to the titles on our online shop too.

In addition, a portion of the proceeds of the Art Show will go to the family. So, buy some art. Support local artists. Support a beloved Santa Paula family. 💚

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and Board Member, Augustine "Augie" Diaz.

Augie had a passion for learning, attending college art classes, and his creativity shined in his work with acrylics, ceramics, and photography. Many of you will recognize his incredible smile from Art Rotation days at the Train Depot Gallery and our Annual Art Show. He was always the first to offer a helping hand, no matter the task. From hauling our displays around town, to cleaning up donated frames, hanging and photographing the art show, Augie was there.

The SPSA is deeply honored to have shared so many wonderful moments with Augie and will miss him every day. His legacy of kindness, artistic spirit, and generosity will continue to inspire us all, reminding us of the difference one caring soul can make.

If you are so interested, his family has started a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs and support for his children during this difficult time.

The SPSA Board has decided to dedicate the upcoming 87th Annual Art and Photography Exhibit to Augie.

Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
